5 Things you didn't know about the Volkswagen Passat

Discover 5 things you probably didn't know about Volkswagen's estate model!

The Passat has been a mainstay in the Volkswagen range since it's introduction in 1973 and has been a common sight on British roads, ferrying families and business users from point A to point B with ease. Renowned for it's premium build quality and engineering at a not so premium price-point!

Now going into it's ninth model generation the Passat is now only available in Estate bodystyle and has plenty of new tricks and advances in technology.

Courtesy of knowledgeable sales executive Adam Dabbs, read five things you probably didn't know about the new Passat!

1. Passat eHybrid has an all electric range between 77 and 82 miles. More than enough for most day to day needs!

2. Luggage capacity up to 690 litres (510 litres in eHybrid) up to 1920 litres with the seats down! (1740 litres eHybrid)

3. IQ.LIGHT. The matrix technology of the headlights allows you to drive with the main beam permanently switched on without dazzling other road users.

4. Drag coefficient factor down from 0.3 to 0.25 meaning it cuts through the air better and makes it more fuel efficient than its predecessor.

5. Gear lever now by the steering wheel giving a lot more storage space in the centre console
