New Guinness World Record set for an electric van
Showcasing its prodigious real-world range and efficiency, the Kia PV5 Cargo has officially entered the Guinness World Records™ for achieving:
“The greatest distance travelled by a light-duty battery-powered electric van with maximum payload on a single charge is 430.84 miles (693.38km)”.
Fully loaded with its maximum permitted payload*, the PV5 Cargo L2/H1 Long Range 71.2kWh covered 430.84 miles (693.38km) on a single charge, setting a new benchmark for efficiency and endurance in the eLCV segment. The record-breaking drive took place on 30 September 2025 under authentic, real-world conditions on public roads north of Frankfurt, Germany.
Available now in Cargo (L2/H1) and Passenger (five-seater), the PV5 will be joined from 2026 by new variants, including Crew, Chassis Cab, Cargo L1/H1, and Cargo L2/H2. The larger PV7 and PV9 are currently in development.
