What is Motability at Murray Group?

Exchange your higher rate mobility allowance for a brand-new car and enjoy worry-free motoring for less than £50 a week. A brand-new car every three years including, insurance, road tax, servicing, maintenance, repairs and breakdown cover.

If you're in receipt of either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement, you will be able take ownership of a brand-new Volkswagen car in exchange for your benefit. Possession of the vehicle will be on a contract hire basis, meaning that, at the end of the agreement, you will be entitled to return the vehicle in exchange for an alternative model.

Benefits of joining the Motability Car Scheme

If you choose a car, all this is included:

A new car every three years

You get a brand new car every three years. We will contact you a few months before your lease expires, and if you decide to continue with the Motability Scheme, providing you are still eligible. You can choose a car for the next three-year contract.

Insurance

The worry-free package provides similar cover to what you would expect under a fully comprehensive insurance policy. You can still lease a car even if you don’t drive, you simply nominate two drivers who can drive on your behalf. And if you decide to leave the Motability Scheme at a later stage, you can request a letter confirming your claims history to take to your new insurer.

Servicing and maintenance

All of your regular servicing and maintenance is included, we will collect and deliver your car if you live nearby or if you prefer we will lend you a courtesy car free of change. All service and maintenance costs are covered within the scheme so you’ll have no unexpected repair bills with your Motability car.

 Full breakdown assistance from RAC

Assistance is provided by the RAC and the Motability Assist helpline and roadside staff are specially trained to handle your calls and are available on 0800 73 111 73, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Assistance is provided for recovery, either at the roadside or at home.

Annual car tax

When you take delivery of your car, it will already be taxed for the first year. If you live in Great Britain or Northern Ireland, Motability will arrange for your car to be taxed each year throughout your lease (unless you have chosen to pay tax privately).

60,000 mileage allowance over three years

You get 60,000 mileage allowance over three years with cars. However, if the total mileage is higher than the allowance when you return the car, there is a charge of 5p for every additional mile.

 Many adaptations at no extra cost

If you need adaptations to make your car easier, safer or simply more comfortable to use, you’ll be pleased to know that many of the most popular ones are now available at no additional cost.
